2 women arrested after prostitution bust at motel, police say

TUPELO, Miss. (WMC) – Tupelo Police have arrested two Memphis women and charged them with human trafficking after a report of prostitution was investigated.

On July 8, 2024, officers received a call on the suspicion of prostitution at a local motel located inside the Tupelo city limits.

Officers responded to the hotel and made contact with three individuals in a room.

Upon further investigation, two women were identified and arrested.

Terraneika Poplar, 19, and Destiney Plummer, 20, were arrested and charged with human trafficking.

Tupelo police were able to make the arrests and rescued a female juvenile in the process.

On July 9, 2024, Poplar and Plummer were presented to Tupelo Municipal Court for their initial appearance. Both women were denied bond.
