Nonprofit to provide free physicals, school supplies and a gift card at Fort Walton Beach back-to-school event

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Hundreds of kids can get a free gift card and school supplies as local nonprofit Striving 4 Perfection Ministries prepares to host the 16th Annual Back to School Bash.

According to a spokesperson with the nonprofit, the event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 24 Bass Avenue in Fort Walton Beach.


The event, which aims to prepare kids for going back to school, will feature the following resources and activities:

  • Outreach services: Okaloosa County Health Department, The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office with Crime Prevention and Cyber Security, and Well Care Insurance
  • School Readiness: Free and reduced lunch sign-up, free helmets, and a free library card sign-up for kids and adults
  • Health: All physicals (school and sports), blood pressure checks, free children hygiene kits from Church World Service, One Blood Bus blood donation, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor
  • Activities: Reptile zoo, balloon art, games, waterslide
  • Food and more

Nonprofit officials say those thinking of attending the event should arrive as soon as possible. The first 200 kids will receive gift cards and school supplies.
