Man arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing 2 women in Delano

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man has been arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing two women following an argument Tuesday in Delano, authorities said.

Officers arrested Edwin Rodriguez, 28, of Delano. He was booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility on two counts of attempted murder, according to inmate records.

The Delano Police Department said officers were called to a mobile home community on July 9 on Girard Street at around 7:25 p.m. and found two women with stab wounds.

According to investigators, Rodriguez was armed with a knife and walking in the area and became involved in a verbal argument with two women. Police did not say what prompted the argument but allege Rodriguez attacked the women and fled the scene.

Delano police said officers were eventually able to locate Rodriguez and was taken into custody.

The two victims were taken to hospitals for treatment and were listed as stable.

Rodriguez is being held on $1 million bail and is due in court on Friday. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Delano Police Department at 661-721-3377.
