NWS Louisville says tornado touched down near Cumberland/Metcalfe line

A survey team from the National Weather Service in Louisville was in neighboring Cumberland County yesterday, surveying storm damage from Tuesday afternoon’s severe weather event.

The weather service survey team determined that an EF-0 tornado touched down near the Cumberland/Metcalfe County line on Tuesday.

According to the report, the tornado touched down just east of KY 1312. The tornado traveled north for almost a mile, mostly with winds between 75 and 80 miles per hour. Winds peaked near 85 miles per hour with a max width of 200 yards.

The tornado ended in extreme southern Metcalfe County.
