Track of the Day: Ahmed, With Love, ‘WHATCHIMACALLIT’

Dublin hip-hop up and comer Ahmed, With Love has unveiled his new track ‘WHATCHIMACALLIT’, the first soulful single from his upcoming EP.

Ahmed, With Love’s new single ‘WHATCHIMACALLIT’ is the perfect blend of the Dublin rapper’s singular wordsmanship and his signature nonchalant attitude.

On the first half of the track, Ahmed’s silver-tongued flow mixes itself with a breezy, stirring beat as he speaks of whipping up bake sales and not making enough money off of music.

Then, the beat suddenly picks-up to transform into a chopped-up, theatrical soul-hip-hop-drill hybrid, as the artist explores the themes of dealing with his own success.

Halling from Dublin, Ahmed has performed at a number of globally recognised festivals including Body & Soul and All Together Now last year. On top of these performances, the artist has also turned to experimental-curating with his own series of events.

Dublin Fringe Festival’s Clash at the Quays featured performances from Curtisy, KhakiKid and more, alongside an amateur wrestling show, while the 2024 Lovers With Love played out as a tongue-in-cheek Valentine’s special – an embodiment of Ahmed’s humour and personality.
