Real Madrid Star Announces Emotional Departure From Club

A now former Real Madrid star has announced an emotional departure from the club.

Theo Zidane is of course the son of Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane, who won the Champions League with Los Blancos in the early 2000s as the most expensive player of all time in his era, before then claiming an unprecedented “threepeat” of UCL crowns from 2016-2018 from the dugout a manger.

Theo has been unable to replicate such success as a midfielder and, as the last of the Zidanes remaining at the club following his father’s 2001 record-breaking transfer from Juventus, has now also departed to Cordoba where he will continue his career.

He wanted to bid farewell to Madrid and its fans properly on social media, however, and did so via a video published to his Instagram account.

“Today it’s time to say goodbye to the club of my life, Real Madrid. I joined as a young boy 14 years ago and today I can say that I am leaving as a man. This has been my home, my school, my family,” the 22-year-old began.

“I have grown as a footballer and as a person, and I will always carry with me the values that this club has transmitted to me,” Theo Zidane vowed.

“I want to thank every coach, all the workers at the club, and every one of the teammates I’ve had – some of whom have become friends.

“Every moment shared, every teaching, and every learning received has been special to me. Now this stage is coming to an end and new doors are opening along the way. I only have words of gratitude. Wherever I go, I will always carry a piece of this shield in my heart. Hala Madrid!”, he concluded.

Over a three-year period from 2021-2024, Theo Zidane made 93 appearances for Real Madrid’s reserve outfit the Castilla and scored three goals.

He was unable to progress to Carlo Ancelotti’s first team in the center of the park, however, where he would face competition from the likes of the now-retired German icon Toni Kroos and Ballon d’Or contender Jude Bellingham to name just a couple of world class players.
